As part of Techtonic, NLIU-CLT intends to organize four online competitions, one of which is ‘TechTask’, an agreement drafting competition. The theme for the same is “Rent Agreement: Interaction with the Technologies of the Future.”

Format of the Competition

“TechTask” is an online agreement drafting competition which seeks to promote critical, analytical and creative thinking and to put forth novel ideas by drafting an agreement on the given theme. The participants shall be required to draft an agreement between the landlord and the tenant set in the year 2030 as per The Model Tenancy Act, 2021. Reference to technological development/s during the time period provided in the Problem is encouraged. However, the same must be practical and feasible. The submitted agreements shall be reviewed by the judges based on the provided marking scheme.

All interested students shall be required to register for the event in order to be eligible for participating in the Competition.

Each team shall be provided a team code that they shall use as a reference point throughout the Competition.

  • Registration Opens: 1 January 2023
  • Release of the Problem: 9 January 2023
  • Registration Closes: 5 February 2023
  • Submission Deadline: 5 February 2023
  • Declaration of Results: 26 February 2023

Submission Guidelines

Submissions shall be made through the provided form only.


Why should I participate?

  • The winning team shall be awarded with a research internship opportunity with a faculty from NLIU, Bhopal, publication of their submission on NLIU-CLT’s Blog for Law and Technology and a Certificate of Merit.
  • The runners-up shall be given an opportunity to publish their submission on NLIU-CLT’s Blog for Law and Technology and Technology and a Certificate of Merit.
  • All participants shall be awarded a Certificate of Participation.

Eligibility and Team Composition

  • Students may participate individually or in a team consisting of two (2) members.
  • Participants may form inter-institutional teams for the competition.
  • Participation is open to all under-graduate and masters students studying law and related subjects only.
  • There is no cap on number of teams registering from a college/ University.

The registration fee is INR 200 for Indian teams (teams representing universities located in India) and USD 3 for foreign teams (teams representing colleges and universities located outside India. Teams representing branches of Indian universities located outside of India will also come under this category).

No refund of the registration fee shall be permitted.

The Organising Committee reserves the right to add, amend or remove any rules regarding the Competition and the decision of the Organising Committee shall be final and binding on all matters.
